Abstract

Introduction A new method to evaluate the parameters of the classical equivalent circuit for three-phase induction machines is presented. The method is based on a 2D transient simulation, performed by a Finite Element Method (FEM) software. The basic idea is to substitute the two classical laboratory tests (the short circuit and the no load tests) with a simulation test (not realisable in laboratory) to get the circuit parameters. It is nexssary to underline that it would be very difficult to simulate classical labratory test involving some motor parts in movement
