Abstract
An electromagnetic leakage problem often appears at a shielding door's aperture, and the usual method to resolve it is to apply some kind of electrical gasket to the shielding door. The finger-reed is a typical electrical gasket with broad application. The influence of the dimensions of a finger-reed structure on shielding efficiency is first analyzed by FDTD method. Then, the shielding efficiency for an electromagnetic pulse is investigated when a finger shaped reed is installed in an aperture of a metal structure. The computational results coincide well with those of experimental results. Finally, some conclusions, which may provide a helpful reference for practical engineering, are obtained.
