Abstract
The aim of the article is a structural analysis of the literary presentation of the homily, which is the main genre of religious communication. The research demonstrates that the kernel of spiritual message is formed by aphorization falling into the two main semantic and syntactic units, namely an aphorism and maxim. Aphorism tersely suggests a wise idea, maxim tersely expresses morally instructive idea. Both types of statements in the context of the corresponding God-inspired utterances serve as a powerful stylistic device. The research is concluded by a suggested typology of the shown aphorized statements.
