Abstract

In general, the design of silk products relies on the user's preferences. Conventional design system for silk products utilizes an old-fashioned design method that designers need to design the products manually. However, this task is very complicated and difficult. Therefore, the automation of products' design is very necessary. In this paper, we have innovatively built and verified a fuzzy rule-based expert system for silk products' design based on Web. We generate the fuzzy rules by summarizing the experts' knowledge and experience. Through connecting to the database, the expert system of silk products' design utilizes the data stored in the database and the rules stored in the knowledge base to reason out the design results which are needed. It was proved that the proposed expert system is able to advise on the design of silk products for designers.
