Abstract
Through a comparative study based on computer simulations of time-compressed multiplexing TCM and frequency-division multiplexing (FDM) signals, with a maximum of 64 channels, the authors confirm the theoretical existence of a gain improvement property in TCM signals. This property is analogous to the nonsimultaneous load advantage aspect found with FDM signals and incorporates two separate factors related to the average signal power and the number of multiplexed channels. The validation method was based on the average power and peak voltage level changes found in FDM and simulated TCM signals.<>
