Abstract

In this paper, we propose an effective packet loss recovery scheme using a cache server in IPTV (Internet Protocol TeleVision) multicast service. In the proposed scheme, the cache server detects which packets have been lost by using the additional information received from STB (Set-Top Box) device. And then, it retransmits these lost packets to STB device. Test results shows the high recovery success rate of the proposed scheme for packet losses over the commercial IPTV network.
