Abstract

New civil engineering structures are long and slender and they have less damping. Therefore they are subjected to large vibrations when earthquake or wind acts. These excitations may cause structural collapse of the structure. Therefore to control these vibrations supplementary control devices are used. Tuned liquid column damper (TLCD) is one of a passive control device to reduce the excitations.
