Knowledge of nutritional awareness family can be increased by providing information through nutritional counseling. Nutritional counseling can be provided with certain media, one of which is using flipchart media. Flipchart becomes a media that is easy and inexpensive to use, and can be understood well by the target, so as to increase knowledge. Objectives; This study aimed to determine the influence of nutritional counseling flipchart media to knowledge of nutritional awareness family. Methods; The type of research was quasi-experimental, with one group pretest posttest design. The samples in this study were 44 mothers under five, who resided in the area of the Simarpinggan Health Center, South Tapanuli. The sample size used the Slovin formula and the sampling method was purposive sampling. The pretest data was taken before the nutrition counseling intervention with flipchart. Then, after 1 week the posttest data were taken. Data analysis used Wilcoxon test. Results; The knowledge before nutrition counseling had an average value of 4.68, after nutrition counseling, knowledge increased by 8.20. There was an effect of nutritional counseling through flipchart media on the knowledge of mothers under five about nutritional awareness family with p value (0.000).
