Abstract

The magnetic amplifier pwm is found here to have superior electrical, mechanical and reliability parameters when compared to its semiconductor equivalent network. The use of magamp pwm in high frequency power conditioning is advocated. Possibilities for adding feedforward and dynamic response shaping networks are discussed. Three major magnetic pwm configurations are displayed and compared. Actual data relative to the static and dynamic behavior of a magnetically modulated switching system concludes the article.
