Abstract

A modulated metasurface has been proposed with a ability to manipulate polarization of signal. The metasurface is made of 2-dimentional arrangement of angle modulated split ring resonators (SRRs) that can convert linearly polarized signal to circularly polarized signal. As a proof-of-concept, by placing the modulated metasurface over a linearly polarized microstrip patch antenna, circularly polarized radiation is observed at far-field.
