Abstract
The socio-cultural essence of infodemic, as a factor of social instability in the global processes of our time, has been determined. It has been proved that the spread of mass culture and mass consciousness served as the basis for the emergence of infodemic. The influence of stereotypes of public consciousness on the process of spreading misinformation has been revealed.
