Abstract

In recent years electric vehicles have become the most plausible alternative to the current transportation system based on fossil fuels. Electric mobility advantages are clear in terms of both air emissions and energy consumption. Recent increase in sales testifies the growing interest towards electric vehicles also from private consumers together with public and politic institutions. Given the different nature of electric energy in comparison with liquid fuels, a broad diffusion of electric mobility requires introduction of new business models that can satisfy new users' needs and take advantage of potentialities of this new market. This paper proposes a possible electric mobility scenario, and analyzes business models acting in this new transport system, giving a visual representation of them. Analysis of these new business models have been realized taking into account the new possible services that electric mobility allows to introduce and the economic impact that they may have in functioning of the various business systems.
