Abstract
This final chapter unites the aspects of Bob Dylan’s art previously discussed—vocal style, musical composition, choice and arrangement of instruments—in a comprehensive consideration of four songs. “Visions of Johanna” from Blonde on Blonde (1966), “Dear Landlord” from John Wesley Harding (1967), and two lesser-known examples from the 2009 album Together through Life, “Life Is Hard” and “This Dream of You,” are examined from multiple standpoints to reveal them as highly integrated, significant achievements.
