Abstract

In recent years, superhydrophobic surfaces have been widely used in many fields due to their good performance. Paper and paperboard are widely used as environmentally friendly materials in the packaging field, but the hydrophilicity of the fibers and the porosity of the paper limit the development of paper in the field of superhydrophobicity. This paper addresses the mechanism of superhydrophobic surface formation, key conditions required to prepare superhydrophobic paper and the research status of super-hydrophobic paper in recent years is reviewed.
