Abstract
A prominent Russian cartographer reviews a recently published comprehensive atlas on The Earth's Nature and Resources, in whose preparation a major role was played by personnel of the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In the review, he devotes particular attention to the contributions of the atlas in supplementing a series of basic Russian atlases with global coverage, and in further developing the principles of comprehensive mapping.
