Abstract
Dual Norton model is a two-port model based on the method of characteristics and finite differences that often does not require segmenting the transmission line. This method makes the calculation of aerial lines be simple. However, it is evident that the accuracy of this model should be affected by Earth resistivity, frequency and line length, which has not discussed in detail. In this paper, an error evaluation method is proposed and the application scope is investigated for the dual Norton model.
