Abstract

A rigorous formulation is carried out for a superconducting microstrip line with an arbitrary strip thickness. The superconducting strip is modeled by an equivalent impedance sheet in the formulation. The surface impedance of the sheet is obtained in a general closed form which is a function of the strip parameters. The transmission characteristics of superconducting microstrip lines are calculated using the derived formula and presented for comparison.
