Abstract

Few computer experiences are more frustrating than struggling with software that is not user-friendly. This is especially true in the oil industry, where field personnel often are reburied to run complex engineering programs. In this paper, the authors discuss and demonstrate techniques that maximize user-friendliness in PC-based engineering programs. The guidelines provided are applicable to other technical and nontechnical areas.
