Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop methods of brain tumor PDT, based on locoregional injection of photosensitive substance in liquor system. The first experience in performing this PDT procedure showed that it is well endured by patients with brain tumors. MRI and clinical examinations of patients 14 months after PDT revealed the absence of continued tumor growth. All this testifies to the favourable preconditions for further development and application of this treatment technique in neurooncology.
