Abstract

This index presents a list of ancient author names, places and subjects that are mentioned in the book Will, Action and Freedom: Christological Controversies in the Seventh Century. The entries are arranged in alphabetical order. Scholarship on the civil history of Byzantium in the seventh century has also advanced dramatically, owing to the contributions of Andreas Stratos, John Haldon, Walter E. Kaegi, et al. The author's analysis of these two doctrines, Monenergism-Monothelitism and Dyenergism-Dyothelitism, is undertaken in terms of hypostasis, nature, natural property, energeia, and in terms that formed the framework of theological argument throughout the seventh century.Keywords:Byzantium; Christological controversies; Dyenergism-Dyothelitism; Monenergism-Monothelitism; seventh century
