Abstract

Rural farming communities in Bali, recognize side dishes from crickets and bluang (orong-orong or land dogs). The insects are used as a substitute for expensive meat. The purpose of this article is to understand the gastronomy of crickets and be bluang and to obtain strategies to avoid their extinction.
