The thing is that at the heart of storylines, characters and conflicts are archetypes and mythologies familiar to us from childhood. The expression "fairy-tale reality" is an oxymoron, because the idea that a fairy tale is something unrealistic, impossible and knowingly false has entrenched in the minds of people.
