Abstract

In order to study the influence of pollution on the heating and discharge characteristics of zero-value insulator and insulator string, infrared and ultraviolet imaging method were used in the experiment. Using the highest temperature and spot sequence of the insulator, with the pollution in dry and moist condition, the effect of the salt density and position of the zero-value insulator in the insulator string on the heating and discharging characteristics was analyzed. The ANSYS was used to simulate the electric and thermal field of the polluted insulator. Analysis of ANSYS simulation results under experimental conditions was consistent with the experimental results.
