Abstract

The reliability of metallised polypropy film (MPPF) capacitors can be quite high to the self healing property of the film. defects in the polypropylene (PPI however can lead to partial discharges electrochemical reaction, resulting evaporation and oxidation of metal coat and recession of the metallised e leaving clear marks on the metal1 surface . This process results in reduc in capacitance and increase in dissipa factor of the dielectric with ageing .
