Abstract
Mangrove ecosystems in Tangerang Regency have experienced damage caused by several factors, one of which is abrasion. Abrasion in Tangerang Regency causes a reduction in mangrove ecosystems in several sub-districts in the region. The government of Tangerang Regency has been conducting rehabilitation of coastal areas in 2015 until now. This research was conducted to find out the condition of mangrove ecosystems in Tangerang Regency in 2021. The purposes of this study was to determine the type of species, density, important values index (IVI), mangrove canopy coverage and to analyze the condition of mangrove ecosystems in Tangerang Regency. This research was conducted in 5 villages in 4 sub-districts of the northern part of Tangerang Regency. Data collection was taken in March 2021. Sampling was performed at 5 stations with 3 repetitions at each station. Using transects with dimensions of measuring 10 x 10 m 2 for tree level, 5 x 5 m 2 for stake level, and x 1 m 2 for seed level. The results of the study showed that there are 4 types of mangroves found at the observation site, namely Bruguiera parviflora, Avicennia officinalis, Sonneratia caseolaris, and Avicennia lanata. Mangrove ecosystems in Tangerang Regency have the highest tree density of 622 ind/ha with moderate categories, while the sapling and seedling level have the highest density of 6,533 ind/ha and 22,222 ind/ha with a very dense category. The percentage of mangrove canopy cover was highest in Tangerang Regency was 71.147% with a moderate category.
