Point Clouds in Projects of the Czech Army Corps of Engineers

Abstract

This article deals with the basic possibilities of using the Point Clouds in the projects of the Czech Army Corps of Engineers. The article describes the sources of this data and the possibilities of their use for the design of military construction, which are very often closely associated with the design of earthworks. When designing, it is important to have accurate and especially up-to-date information about the terrain in the area of interest. Point clouds are becoming an increasingly important part of the field of infrastructure design and can be used very effectively in the projects of the Czech Army Corps of Engineers.
