Abstract

Today many material and chromatic dispersion compensation methods are well-known, so they will not be considered in this work. In high-rating fiber-optical transfer systems (FOTS) polarizing mode dispersion (PMD) has an essential influence. Using Jones' matrices method, one can obtain output polarization ellipse dependence upon optical medium polarizing parameters, and using Muller' s method one can define polarizing dependent losses. Applying those methods, one can predict maximal allowed PDL values and PMD values, so define error coefficient for specified optical components combination.
