Osteocondroma de apófisis coronoides: enfermedad de Jacob

Abstract

Osteochondroma of the coronoid apophysis is an uncommon lesion of the facial skeleton. It causes a progressive decrease in mouth opening, restriction of mandibular movements, facial asymmetry and absence of pain. Computed tomography with 3D reconstruction is effective for diagnosis (shape, location, size and relationship with other structures).The treatment of choice is coronoidectomy with intraoral approach, although depending on the size of the lesion an extraoral or mixed approach is accepted. The prognosis is very good with very few recurrences.
