Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh intensitas dan lamanya pemaparan pencahayaan UV terhadap laju pelepasan Zooxanthellae pada karang Acropora sp serta recovery nya. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Desember 2018 – Januari 2019, di Laboratorium Histopatologi BBPBAP Jepara. Spesimen karang Acropora sp. diberikan perlakuan penyinaran secara Fotoperiode dan terus-menerus dengan lampu uv 10 watt, 15 watt dan kondisi normal; dengan ulangan tiga kali. Sampel karang Acropora sp. diambil dari perairan Pulau Panjang Jepara. Pengamatan dilakukan pada interval waktu ke- 0, 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, dan 72 jam. Parameter utama yang diamati adalah laju pelepasan Zooxanthellae dan peubah pendukung yaitu kualitas air. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa intensitas pencahayaan memberikan pengaruh yang sangat nyata terhadap pelepasan Zooxanthellae, semakin tinggi dan pencahayaan yang terus menerus mengakibatkan bleaching total Zooxanthellae pada Acropora sp. Pelepasan Zooxanthellae pencahayaan UV secara terus-menerus lebih besar dari pada perlakuan secara fotoperiode (1881 sel/jam > 731 sel/jam). The light intensity is an important factor for polyp coral in supporting coral growth, or otherwise can cause bleaching of coral. The aims of this research are to evaluate the influence of intensity and the length of ultra violet lighting exposure to the rate of the release of Zooxanthellae in Acropora sp. and their recovery. The research was carried out in December 2018 to January 2019, in the Histopatologi Laboratory of BBPBAP Jepara. Coral Acropora sp. Was given continuous and fotoperiode light treatment with ultra violet lights 10 watts, 15 watts and normally condition; with three times replications. Samples of Acropora sp. were taken from Panjang Island Jepara. The periode of observation are 0 , 12 , 24 , 36 , 48 , 60 , and 72 hours. The main parameters observed are the release of Zooxanthellae and water quality as supporting variables. The result showed that the intensity of ultra violet lighting influence significantly on the release of Zooxanthellae. The higher of intensity and continuous lighting caused total bleaching of Zooxanthellae in Acropora sp.
