Abstract
Health-related aspects are very important to both civilian and each of the countries. Three key issues have been currently realized. Firstly, Deficiency of medical personnel affects the quality of treatment, care and nursing. Secondly, many countries have been approaching a super-aged society. Proper policies are needed and applied to the elderly. Thirdly, current medical system lacks of preventive medicine application which efficiently prevents and relieves disease prevalence. Computer technology has been currently applied to several domains in order to yield better performance. Wearable devices have become usable and applicable to sense several vital signs and communicate them with other networked nodes via the Internet. In this paper, "UbiNurSS on Mobile - A Ubiquitous Nursing Support System on Mobile Devices" has been developed for nursing support. UbiNurSS employs available devices which are capable of measuring pulse which reflects pulse or heart rate and blood pressure. Mobile devices have also been used. UbiNurSS on Mobile consists of two sub-systems -- a mobile application which facilitates health monitoring and warning for both wearer and doctor, and a web application which facilitates the nurse's or caregiver's tasks at a nursing station or an ordinary dwelling. The heart rate report and corresponding warning can be generated in real-time. We demonstrate feasible applicability of UbiNurSS on Mobile in terms of users' satisfaction survey.
