ROUND CUTOUTS FROM DIRHAMS IN CIRCULATION IN THE 10th CENTURY: HISTORICAL AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL ENTOURAGE

В X в. в междуречье Днепра и Дона появляются круглые вырезки из дирхемов. С 920-х по 990-е гг. их вес уменьшается от 1,9 до 0,4 г. Основанная на этих артефактах денежная система действовала главным образом в пределах одного из регионов Северской земли – «Посемья». Почти одновременно возникает тра диция изготовления более тяжелых вырезок, которая существует до начала XI в. Охватывая значительную территорию за пределами ареала северян, она, однако, имела заметно меньшее распространение, а ее привязка к конкретным этнополитическим образованиям пока затруднена. n the 10th century round cutouts from dirhams appeared in the Dnieper and Don interfluve. In the period from 920s to 990s their weight decreased from 1,9 to 0,4 grams. The monetary system based on these artifacts was in operation, mainly, in the Seim region of the Severia land. And while this tradition was followed in vast areas outside the region inhabited by the Severia population, it was less widespread outside Severia, which makes it still difficult to link this tradition to specific ethnopolitical unions.
