Abstract
As the RF cell towers / Wi-Fi towers are increasing day by day, the environment around us is becoming polluted and more prone to malfunctioning of an electronic equipment. They are constantly being exposed to radiations present in the environment which leads to the malfunctioning in their operation. To reduce the effects of the radiation, devices need to undergo Radiated Immunity testing. Music Infotainment System, which is commonly used in our vehicles, has been taken as the model for testing. This Paper gives the basic idea regarding the Radiated Immunity test conducted at ARAI, Pune. This Music Infotainment System has been tested for Radiated Immunity with and without Aluminium Enclosure. The Aluminium enclosure having a thickness of 1mm and dimensions 290 × 190 × 120 mm was tested in the EMI chambers where it was exposed to the radiation level 30 V/m as per Automotive Standard AIS 004: Part 3 for frequency range 200 MHz–2 GHz. Observations were made for any malfunctioning in the operation of the system like distorted audio and any possible effect on display.
