Abstract

In this paper, a two-dimensional electronically-scanning phased array for X-band application is presented. The proposed antenna consists of 256 elements, providing ± 30° scanning range in azimuth and elevation plane. The array elements are placed in the order of λ/2 at the middle frequency in two principal planes. The simple structure is very popular in phased array due to easy processing, and low cost. Details of the proposed antenna design are described and simulated results are presented.
