Abstract
In the Republic
of Armenia, production based on the principle of circular
economy (CC) or closed-loop economy is not widely used.
Meanwhile, especially in the last decade, the principles of the
circular economy are widely applied in several countries of the
world and practical steps are being taken towards the transition
from a linear economy to a closed-loop economy. The scientific
community together with the progressive representatives of the
business sphere claim that the future is with the development of
the circular economy. It is quite convincing, because the circular
economy's resource-efficient approaches, environmental and
social advantages are fully in line with the UN Sustainable
Development Challenges and the requirements of a smart
economy. As a starting point, we prefer to study the international
experience of the circular economy, legal and economic
regulation structures and legislative foundations by comparing
them with the Armenian reality, so as to identify the existing
prerequisites and the problems that require solutions.
