THEORETICAL FOUNDATIONS OF THE PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE OF THE TEACHER

Abstract

This article examines the features of professional competence of a teacher, reveals approaches to determining the essence and structure of professional competence of a teacher, identifies the features of the innovative educational environment, identifies factors affecting the development of professional competence. Professional competence plays a special role due to the fact that the education system is currently characterized by significant innovative transformations. Under the current conditions, a teacher should be ready for any changes, be able to adapt quickly and effectively to new conditions, show a desire to be a professional, constantly update their knowledge and skills, strive for self-development, show tolerance to uncertainty, be ready for risk, i.e. be professionally competent. Thus, the development of professional competence of teachers becomes one of the most important conditions for reforming education.
