Abstract

Object detection is a computer technology related to computer vision and image processing that deals with detecting instances of semantic objects of a certain class in digital images and videos. An attempt is made in this study to detect and extract objects in an image implemented on android platform. Color images are converted to binary images using the thresholding technique. Morphological opening and closing filters are used in sequence for object detection. Contour based learning techniques are adopted for drawing contours of the objects detected.
