Abstract
The worldwide markets have made progress with the adoption of Light Emitting Diode (LED) and improving lighting efficiency. LED lamps are considered one of the common non-linear loads that cause harmonic emissions injected into the distribution system, especially with extensive usages that usually occur in residential areas. This paper produces a power quality study for 32 low-wattage LED lamps collected from the Hungarian markets. The study focuses on the effect of the supplied voltage variety in terms of various voltage magnitudes for 0.9, 0.95, 1, 1.05, and 1.1 Per Unit (p.u.) on the tested lamps. The study compares the current waveform shapes of the tested lamps under pure sinusoidal and regular flat-top voltage. Also, harmonic distortion, fundamental active power, and fundamental reactive power values are measured, collected, and calculated for each lamp using MATLAB software tools.
