Planejamento urbano: O abastecimento agrícola nas cidades

Abstract

Population growth and lack of city planning can pose risks to Food Security. The news models of agriculture can help with this problem. The objective of this research is to evaluate the development of cities in terms of food supply, based on the implementation of Vertical Farms. The research was based on bibliographical and documentary surveys. Analysis of models of urbanrural planning proposed by Howard and Fourier was made to compare data from the metropolis of São Paulo. It was sought to elucidate the impacts that the implantation of a Vertical Farm can cause for the population and the environment. It has been found that food supply will become a problem if the distance between field and city continues to increase. It was diagnosed that the Vertical Farm has great potential to assist in ensuring Food Security. However, more researchs needs to be done in order to reduce energy consumption.
