Abstract

With new technologies, such as the Internet of Things, the number of connected devices has increased, including RFID access controls, where information security is a highlight. Over the years, RFID access controls have focused on more robust and flexible designs. In addition, with the development of new technologies that led us to connect to the Internet, more complex and diverse designs of RFID access controls are provided. This paper presents the design and implementation of an RFID access control for the IoT, with a security scheme based on Open-source hardware and the ATECC608A cryptographic processor to provide data integrity and confidentiality. According to the results, in contrast with previous implementations, the proposed system reads and stores the RFID card information through a visual interface, increasing its security and performance.
