Abstract

RNG (Renormalization Group) k-epsilon turbulent model was applied to the numerical simulation of turbulent mixing processes in a RQL gas turbine combustor, and SIMPLE algorithm was used to solve the finite difference equations. Calculations are in agreement with experimental date. Based on the concept of equivalent isothermal flow, the mixing quality which is affected by the injector zone geometry and the jet to cross flow momentum flux ratios was discussed, through analysing the temperature fields of the flow and near-wall. The results indicated that the effect is obvious.
