Research indicates a possible neuroprotective effect of antidiabetic drugs used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Abstract
Abstract Cognitive impairment, including memory problems or pathologies related to thought processes, can be caused by mental, neurodegenerative, and somatic diseases. Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and vascular disease are common in elderly people who are burdened with chronic diseases such as diabetes and can contribute to the deterioration of cognitive functions.
