Abstract

Electronic control of the car is a challenging and continuously developing area. Our days' cars include tens or even hundreds of microcontrollers. One of the main blocks in a car is the traction system. Its performance is strongly determined by the adherence of the tires and how are they commanded. A too strong command may lead to dissipated power while a too slight one may lead to a slow run of the car. The solution consists in the launch control systems. This paper presents the study and the implementation of a microcontroller based launch control system for cars.
