Information visualization helps people in dealing with all this information by taking advantage of the visual perception capabilities of the human being. By presenting the information in a more graphically oriented fashion, it is possible for the human brain to take advantage of its perceptual system in the initial information acquiring, rather than immediately relying entirely on the cognitive system. Some of the most important papers in the field are collected in a book.
