DESENVOLVIMENTO TERRITORIAL RURAL: ANÁLISE DA HETEROGENEIDADE SOCIOECONÔMICA NO TERRITÓRIO DAS ÁGUAS EMENDADAS

Abstract

This paper analyzes the topic of rural territorial development in Brazil with the objective of examining two main questions about the Territory of Águas Emendadas (GO / MG / DF): I) the consistency of the inclusion of the Federal District in the composition of this Territory, and secondarily, the possible results that the public politics for rural development of the Federal Government have been promoting in the Territory. The work methodology had as procedures a theoretical revision on the subject, as well as an analysis of the Territory regarding its geographic-demographic, social, housing, occupational and economic profile. The results confirm that almost all the assessed indicators in the Territory emphasize a different Territory when the Federal District is included, with indicators bigger than the rest of the municipal area. It is concluded that the territorial cut analyzed should be reconsidered, because this one does not fit the characteristics that make it a homogeneous Territory and able to identify a common development project at the same time as it presented socioeconomic advances.
