Data-logger built using a digital multimeter and virtual instrumentation

Abstract

In this paper we propose an application that adds extra functions of a digital multimeter (DMM) by connecting it to a computer and its integration into an application type of data acquisition and processing. The information provided from DMM is processed so that through the interface the user has the possibility to observe and record data in real time. Data are recorded in a Chart and in a Table on the front panel with appropriate time markers, according as the measurements are performed. User can select the registration in the file such that can be done for all data or sorting them by type.
