Abstract
The paper presents progress in the design and construction of a mini scanner prototype for magnetic particle imaging (MPI). The system consists of two pairs of coils which will enable imaging of only single plane. Numerical modeling was used for selection and drive coils design. The magnetic field was calculated using COMSOL commercial FEM software and using dedicated solver elaborated for MATLAB environment. A setup of coils was built and the magnetic field was measured. The comparison of results is presented. To-date the coils system construction has been completed and signal receiving tests begun.
