The dimension of the antenna is 16×18.5 mm2, which is very compact in size. Abstract

This paper contains a multiband low profile Modified Inverted-FL (IFL) strip antenna for 5.2/5.8 GHz WLAN and 5.5 GHz WiMAX operations in a laptop computer. The simulation results are analyzed by means of Numerical Electromagnetic Code-2 (4NEC2) software. This antenna covers −10 dB return loss bandwidth of 900 MHz (5150 MHz ∼6050 MHz).
