Abstract

Switchmode power conversion is displacing conventional linear power conversion within Telecom Australia exchange equipment. Advances in computer-aided design software and device models have enabled the waveforms within a switchmode power supply to be accurately simulated. The author develops an accurate high-frequency power MOSFET model and demonstrates the use of simulation techniques to predict switching loss and conducted interference in switchmode power supplies.<>
