Abstract
This paper bestows the power quality analyzer which is more accurate and low cost as compared to existing energy meters which are already present in the market. The proposed power quality analyzer is capable of monitoring the instantaneous and average parameters of the power system. All the measured parameters are compared with Fluke 43B and Yokogawa CW240 to show the accuracy of prototype. The aforesaid energy meters do not take into account the distortion factor while computation of power factor, but the proposed prototype also include the effect of distortion factor in signal computation. The parameters of the power system which includes, total harmonic distortion of current and voltage, frequency, true root mean square, real power, reactive power, apparent power and power factor are displayed on the graphical user interface by using LabVIEW. The prototype is built with the current sensor (L18P010D15) and voltage sensor (LEM LV 25P). The power quality analyzer is validated with the Fluke 43B and Yokogawa CW240 and the results are presented in the paper.
