Abstract

This article report to the valorization of Typha australis, which is an aquatic and invasive plant, by its integration in the habitat. For that, we made an experimental study of mechanical and thermal characterization of concrete of typha. We analyzed the effect of the percentage of typha aggregates on mechanical and thermal properties of concrete. The obtained results show that the incorporation of typha aggregates in the concrete decreases its density and mechanical strength, and increases its thermal resistance. Therefore, the integration of concrete of typha in the habitat reduce the thermal load of the building which will be more energy efficient.
